Since we already had a feet challenge now we need a hands challenge where hands are the main subject

Graininess where the noise and graininess would pay a big part in the composition.

Domestic Animals~Cats, dogs, horses, farm animals....could be any animal that isn't wild but to make it interesting no people in the photo.

1. Concert (Take a photograph of a concert, you can take of the entire band, a single artist or an instrument, but it must be a live event!)

2. Technology (Try to photograph an element of technology, may be an component, a product or a illustration of technology.)

3. Hollywood Movie Scene (Take a photograph that gives the viewer a sense of a classic hollywood scene taken from any given movie. Use your creativity!)

1: Elements- Namely Fire,Air,Water and Earth
2: Glass
3: Second chances-Revist your Lowest ranked entry & redo it better. That one might be quite humourous

2. Leaves (no flowers or bugs allowed)
3. Professions (photpgraph people where they work or dressed for work. Portraits and action shots allowed.)

1. Environmental Portrait - Photograph your subject in an environment that tells something about them. (Refer to Annie Liebowitz's work if you are unsure what this means)

2. Magazne Cover - Yes, I know this was done not too long ago, but I think it should be done with the whole text layout as well. This would require pre-visualization when shooting of the cover layout.

3. Grain - No, not oatmeal or wheat. Make a photograph where graininess plays a role in the feel of the shot.

4. Annoyance - Take pictures of something that just annoys the crap out of you. (No pictures of political ads or politicians, please)

Eyes......make eyes the focal point
Metal......pretty vague, but would come up with some very interesting shots I think.
Time.....Anything to do with time, timekeeping or the passing of time...

Bruchen...white on white...I like that one!!
I tend to spend quite a bit of my time photographing flowers. Rather than doing a broad category on flowers, how about limiting it to:
1-White flowers
2-Yellow flowers
3-Red Flowers
or specific flowers
1-Sunflowers
2-Roses
3-Hibiscus

It would be interesting to see some of the compositions that everyone would come up with.

I know it sounds kind of morbid... But how about:

1) Pain

2) Fear

3) Shock

We always seem to do happy-go-lucky challenges, which I have no problem with by the way.
It just would be nice to see the dark side of people like kiwiness and heida. Can you imagine what DrJones might do???

I really like the parody of past winners idea. Ideally, if a coding change could be made to include a thumbnail (or at least a link) of the inspiration, that would make voting much easier.

Tragedy - Take a photograph which conveys human tragedy.
Live B & W Composition - Take a deliberately composed photograph which relates a person, animal or an article suggestive of either relating to the givens of a particular location. Attention should be paid to respective weights of elements of the picture and an overall balance.
B & W/Grain - Take a gritty black and white picture.

Hmmm. Well that greeting card idea still seems like a possibility but maybe it would be fun to go with something hardly anybody celebrates with a greeting card.

How about either an:
Equinox Day: celebrating the fact that the day and night are (more or less) of the same length in each hemisphere
or
Solstice Day: celebrating the fact that one hemisphere gets a nice long day and the other gets a nice long night.

"secular humanism encourages a commitment to a set of principles which promote the development of tolerance and compassion and an understanding of the methods of science, critical analysis, and philosophical reflection."

Aww, Trinch, sure I am. Just never bought the card! ;-)
