Please don't hurt me, I KNOW I ask a lot of questions! I've said a million times that I'm saving to buy a long lens. The lens will cost around $1300. Would you instead upgrade to a 20D or buy the lens? I'm pretty happy with my DR, but the 20D would be nice to have....but then again so would be the lens. I'm so wishy washy.

how much is the 20D going for? Which do you need for your fotog more?

The lens may be more useful to you at this point. You got a body for it already. When you're ready to purchase the 20D, you'll have the Rebel as a backup...

With the upgrade you could sell the DR so it would be less expensive, but you end up with 1 camera and the same number of lenses.
Get the lens and you are ahead by one lens.
The 20D looks sensational, it is meant to be a big step ahead of the 10D from what I have read, and thus also well ahead of the DR.
But ........
Whichever way you go you are safe! Buy the lens now and you can later get a 20D, maybe in a year when the price starts to drop. Buy the 20D now and hey, it can take the same lens in a year's time.
So, nicely you're going great whichever path you choose .. and yeah, I know, that doesn't help your decision *laugh*

i would invest on a good lens 1st before buying body. my reasoning is you will prolly use the lens much more longer than the body. especially now with digital cameras.
You might save enuff to buy a 20D now, and by the time u got enuff for the long lens there might be another new body.

A good lens will serve you for years whereas a body will get upgraded many times...Get a good lens.
