What do you think? Should I have entered this shot in Backlighting...?

		| Depends. Is it better than the one you submitted? |

		| I think it's very good; however, I think a fair number of people would have scored it lower because it's a bit hard to see that it was backlit. I would have given it a 6 or 7 personally, but that would depend on the other images because I do grade on a curve (I haven't voted yet). |

		| I agree with Neil, the backlighting is not that obvious and you would have scored lesser than what the photo deserves and might have got comments like 'does not meet challenge'. |

A backlit black and white of plant life is pretty tough to pull off. Heck, b&w plant life period isn't so easy.

Here's an example of a backlit leaf, "Droplets from the Other Side," I would have entered if it had been taken during the challenge time period.

		I'm kicking myself now.

Does anyone feel like sometimes they are too critical of their own shots? I should have seen that shot in my queue as a potential entry for backlighting, but lately I find I'm way too hard on my own shots.

Oh well, thanks for the input and comments. |

That's a beautiful shot! You should have reshot if possible. I would have given that at least an 8.

Dang! Foiled by my own sensibilities again! At least I have the consolation of knowing it's going to be featured in my "Water Colors" photo essay in next month's InkPot Magazine. //www.literarypotpourri.com

 Thanks for the compliment... |
