| I have seen alot of photos that look like they have exceeded the rules of basic editing. Such as black & white photos with i object in color. I did not think you were aloud to do this. Some of the picture like this say that they have been validated. Does anyone else notice this. |

This can be done within the basic rules. There have been several threads describing how to do it (search for "desaturation").
If you think there's been a rules violation, you can request a DQ, but please follow the rules yourself and vote as if the picture is legal -- if it is not, it will be gone (eventually), but if it is legal, you will have given it a fair vote.

Selective Desaturation Within the Basic Editing Rules is a tutorial written by Konador which explains how this effect can be achieved legally.
