i took a bunch of pictures the other day of my friend trying to get a good head shot of her. we did get a few really good ones but i took them in raw (NEF) and i can't do anything with them. How do i turn them to jpeg?

.downlaod a free copy of C1 for Nikon D70.

It lasts for 30 days - enough time to find a suitable free version

What software do you have installed on your computer?

You can use the software you got with the D70 to save as JPEG.
Or you could open the files in Photoshop (with RAW plugin) and then save it as another format.

why jpg...tiff would be better. Photoshop, NikonView or Capture, C1 (would be great if not so damn expensive-but trial is nice).

You can download the raw pluggin (ver 2.2) from the Adobe Download Site.

YOu can use "picture project" that came with the d70. You can use "Nikon View" which surely you have installed...just check the tool bar...its in there...

You can use PSP8 or Photoshop....

Photoshop CS (8) is the way to go in a RAW workflow.... perfect integration and good result... try it and work in 16 bit as long as you can !.... have fun .. ciao
