Well, I've finally managed to process some photos from last weekend's trip to Cornwall, and having a press pass for the music festival was FANTASTIC! Such a feeling of power as I went to the front of every queue, and stood at the front of all the gigs in the photographers' pit with a screaming audience. Nice feeling of importance!
We also fitted in a trip to see some friends of ours who are actors perform in a castle, a trip to an aquarium, and a trip to a tropical bird place.
Here are the photos:

Eden Project

The Music

Some Fish and Stuff

and this fella who wanted fish in the harbour:

and Paradise Park

and our friends, the actors

Thanks for looking, and please leave lots of comments!

Dear Bob, Enjoyed looking at all of your pictures! They are so clear and colorful. How did you get the white background on the actor pictures? Where they taken against a white background or did you do that with PS. Also, on the music pictures, where they taken against a pure black background or did you change that somehow. Hope you don't mind my asking, your pictures look so professional I'd love to be able to make mine look the same way!

How did you manage to get a press pass? Do you just ask a newspaper if they would like you to take pictures?

My personal favorite of the pictures - the sleepy owl! It just appeals to me so much.

The actor pictures were taken in a yellow/white marquee... I overexposed the shots enough to burn out the highlights, and I cloned out the odd part that wasn't overexposed. The musician shots were taken at night, so anything that wasn't lit directly by the lights was going to look black.
I got a press pass by sending Womad some pictures from their last festival, and requesting one!

Thanks for the comments...
any more?

Ooooh...The one in the bird place reminds me of the epcot center in Fl. Very vibrant. They look very professional to me as well. Nothing like my photos...lol. Well good luck and keep taking beautiful photos.

great pics.

Did you go to the Newquay aquarium or Plymouth??

The eden pics look great.

I have yet to visit the Eden project, even though I've lived in Cornwall on and off for all my life.

Which castle was the show at????

ahhh just clicked the pics and see they are at St Mawes. I live just across the water in Falmouth.

(and I regularly go up to Pendennis, but very few of the pics are online)
