Yeah, second crop (and frame). But that sholder-head meeting thing...just not comfortable!

Each different style is achieved via different techniques, composition and lighting. So my question was about "photographic intent/direction".

Just practicing with the lights and how they work really!

That's a shame. It's a rare person that can earn a ribbon on both sides of the lens. ;-)

Not sure I quite agree with that. A lot of the best headshots have the top of the head cropped. Check out Kevyn Major Howard's portfolio.

Nagul - The second version with the tighter crop is much better IMO. Excellent catchlights in her eyes.
