My camera is a DSC-V1 by Sony and Sony build a 1.7x adapter to put on the camera. My question is: My camera can take macro shot as near as 10cm at wide angle and 40cm a telephoto, if I add the 1,7x adapter, does it change is macro capabilitie? Because if I add a magnification lens and then I have to step back for macro shots it worthless to me.

If I'm not mistaken, a front-mounted teleconverter will increase your minimum focusing distance.

If you want to get an adapter specifically for macro shots, look for close-up filters or macro filters instead. A good +4 filter such as the Canon 250D or Nikon 4T will give you 25cm distance at full telephoto.

Hi.. I believe a telephoto adapter will just add more zoom to your camera and it is not really a benefit for macro shots. I think by adding the adapter you will need to back off a bit to do macro shots. the main purpose of a telephoto adapter is to gain more zoom (or width for wide angle adapters)

I could be wrong

Is there anybody that knows raynox adpater and what they worth. I'm seriously interested into the super macro adapter but I would like to know if it's any good before spending the money. Thanks
