Looking for comments/critiques on a shot that I took on Friday after some rain here in NH... the little brook in front of my apartment had swelled a bit, and had some really nice looking reflections in the evening light.
Comments? I softened the focus a bit to give a more dreamlike appearance and to minimize the appearance of noise that was present in the low lighting conditions. Used a polarizing filter to get just the reflections that I wanted off the water.

beautiful image. what a great resource to have. personally, i'm not wild about that one huge pine tree, but that's just me. if i had the time, i'd probably be crawling all over the place looking for a shot that i could come back to again and again and again (after all, you're there and the brook isn't going anywhere). i bet you can find a killer view there that would be great for a spring/summer/fall/winter collection, as well as a time of day collection. |

Very pretty! The colors are very nice and I like the longer exposure effect. Cute little stream. I agree with Skip. Would be great for taking seasonal shots.

Thanks for the comments, folks...
I worked on another version that was less aggressive on the softening (was able to take a few other approaches on noise reduction), and isn't quite as saturated in the reds.
Again... opinions?
Thanks for all the suggestions and such. Certainly, I'll be getting many more shots as the New England autumn and winter approach.

Andy, I like the 2nd one better. The colors are nicer. I do see a hint of grain in the water, but not too bad. Nice job.

looks great. now, how bout a shot from the other side of the creek so that the pine tree isn't blocking the view... |

It's not a pine, it's an oak. :D
