I'm really almost buying the Canon 24-70 f/2.8 and the Speedlite 550EX flash.

I found these prices and I was wondering if they (and the websites) are legit. I'll be buying from Australia.

I've heard stories in the past about EF lenses with a plastic lens mount, and not the metal one i'm so used to.
EF 24-70: USD$1029 from
//www.amphotoworld.com/product.asp?id=cn247028usmg&l=Photography
Speedlite 550EX: USD$299
//www.digitalliquidators.com/detail.asp?id=cn550exg

Anything seem wrong here? Prices and products are legit?

Please God no!

AMphotoworld -> //www.resellerratings.com/seller1988.html
Digitalliquidators -> //www.resellerratings.com/seller2375.html

You can always check out the stores on this webpage:
//www.resellerratings.com

Go with a respectable store, even though the price is a bit higher.
//www.bhphotovideo.com
//www.17photo.com
etc.

I can definitely recommend B&H. I've made a few orders from them, all with excellent service.

The AUD is quite strong against the USD at the moment, so hopefully you'll get pretty good prices. (I save a fortune buying from the US, being in the UK.)

I'd look into B&H with this one. Only $140 US price difference. After shipping that price difference will be a lot less and you'll probably get it a lot sooner. //www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=NavBar&A=getItemDetail&Q=&sku=264304&is=USA&si=acc#goto_itemInfo

Whats the deal with the price on this sucker anyways? How much gold was used to make it? My very highly rated 24-70mm f2.8 Sigma only cost $409. //www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=223624&is=REG

I've got the Sigma 28-70/2.8 EX, which I think is a pretty good lens. The 24-70/2.8L costs more because it's sharper and faster. Not sure if the 24-70L is weather sealed too?

Yes the 24-70 f2.8L is weather sealed. Avoid those "cheapo" online stores like the plague. I bought all my lenses from B & H, excellent service, fast shipping, highly recommended.

Thanks. I thought it was too good to be true.
I have a feeling they are the same company anyway. The website is the same, and designed/managed by the same company. All the "about us" info is the same...

Thanks peoples!!! I smell a rat....

EDIT: BHPhotoVideo kicks with an 8.57...

B&H also gets a nod from here as well.

I got both my 24-70 and 550EX from B&H. Hrmm...I thought you already bought that lens after I sent you the JPG from my 10D and that lens. Now I need to take some pictures with my 16-35. :)

I'm selling my Sigma 12-24 to help to buy these items. The 24-70 will give me much more useability. The Sigma was just to much of a specialist lens.
