I have here a 466 iBook "Clamshell" with a broken screen that I need to replace. It also needs a good cleaning inside as well.
Does anyone know how to remove the plastic casing that surrounds the TFT panel? I have been searchin' a whole lot, but haven't gotten anywhere. |

I don't have the knowledge you're looking for but a quick search revealed there are manuals available starting at $10 that show you how to take it apart.

I've never worked on a too many Mac products, but most of the laptops I have worked on are similar. There is usually a plastic or rubber "plugs" and the screws are usually under there. |

I've unscrewed all the screws i can find. but to no avail. There are no screw+plugs like on pc laptops, either. |

Is there a Logo (case badge) that a screw might be hiding behind? And then it could be just pry point usually starting at the bottom.

I took apart an old 1400. Got all the damn screws out and had to really work on that sucker with a screwdriver to pry it apart. It had little catches around the joints of the plastic casing. My biggest problem was around the back of the casing where the ports came out (I did miss one scew there) but still was a pain to get apart. there was also some double sided tape back in there. BE CAREFUL!
Oh yeah...all to flip the monitor screen around so I can make it a digital frame. (C:
