Ok, after many years of trying to do the switch to Linux I'm nearly there, I've been using Gimp (and other linux friendly alternative software) for many months now, I installed the Xandros distro and am very happy.
Except one issue.
I use ACDSee (v6 standard) under windows, I love the way that it's very fast and allows be to do basic editing, I've played with a few alternatives under Linux but nothing that really compares (IMO)
Anyone got any ideas?

| Have you tried any of the Windows emulators like WINE? |

I've looked at using WINE and will use it as a last resort, preferably though I'd like to use native apps

You might want to try GTKSee, a Gnome-based clone of ACDSee :o) If you're looking for linux and/or opensource software, one of the best places to start looking is freshmeat.net - all I did to find GTKSee was search for "image browser" there, and I got 42 possible software projects.

I tried freshmeat, nothing that really fits the bill (or is any better than the 'digikam' native solution).
I'd even go for something commercial if it were available. I know that there are other Linux users on DPC, I'm just wondering what they use, maybe I need to reconsider my processes.
