So, I just moved back to school. I pretty much got the essentials moved into the room but I'm looking for some decent framed photos/posters so I can fill up the walls a bit. I want to get something a little bit "out of the ordinary", any suggestions? (Now would be a good time to possibly sell some of your prints or talk up your favourite artist)

I don't have any specific suggestions, but with that small of a room you are going to need to exercise your eyes a lot. I would suggest a sweeping vista (ocean, mountain, etc.) that has a lot of depth to it so your eyes can roam and at least feel like they are focusing at a distance.
Something colorful would be good too.

Ahh, dorm-life -- oh, how I do not miss it at all!

Yea, that's a good suggestion Britannica. Yeah, the room is small, but it looks even smaller in the pic. Should work out pretty good though, plus it's in a fraternity house so I'll be pretty "convienent". At least I don't have a roommate this year. :) |

I have several alaska pics that would look nice in your room.
Yes, ok, it's my own shameless plug, but I see a couple that would look nice in your room and my prints are generally underpriced, since right now I am more interested in seeing what sells than making money.

Have fun (and learn) in school. What I wouldn't give to go back to those days!

Ahhh college, what a fun time in a person's life. If I were to decorate your room I would put up a few simple pictures, add some nice throw pillows, maybe a ficus for the corner, and install some exercise equipment so you don't gain the freshman 15.

I don't know that I'd feel comfortable pushing my prints at you just to make a sale.
What are your main interests other than photography? If you're into travel then my prints might suit but if you're into portraits or macros or landscapes or cars then I am sure they wouldn't!
Of course, you'd be more than welcome to browse them! There's no charge for looking!
I like just browsing DPC Prints by artist and selecting names at random.
Sometimes I put in an abitrary word and see what I get.
PS Ben (Konador) has some great stuff up that's being sold for charity!

How about this one, by my brother.
Sure to get people talking about it, trying to figure what the heck their looking at. Works better with large amounts of beer.

Oooh bit of a theme going there!

Come on back Brian and let us know more of your interests.
Typical student interests would dictate choices such as , and .
Or maybe , (one of mine), or .
Which leads neatly to the other interest of , or . Check out some of Dimitrii Sherman for some more riske choices.
Apologies if I've guessed wrong sexual orientation. There are some nice male nudes in there too!
That sums up the interests of most students I know.

Should be the standard for every 19 year old male's dorm room!
