I'd like to load this image for sale and would appreciate any ideas for a suitable image title.

I prefer straightforward titles to ones that are overly whimsical though they don't have to be totally descriptive or minimal.

I'm not sure whether the image will load as I can't access the image page myself but hope you'll be able to find the image in my portfolio.

I have also loaded a new set of images to DPC Prints that were taken in Covent Garden on the same day as this one. A look at those titles may help clarify the kind of titles I generally prefer.

THANK YOU

EDIT: I'm going with "Across the River" and have updated the thumb to link to the final image. Thanks for all the help. And talk about speed, D&L are smoking tonight - my latest additions have already been approved for sale!

Simple titles are always good, "View".

I do like simple titles, yes.

I think "View" for me on this image is a little too brief.

I thought about "Looking Across London" because the word "cross" leapt out at me looking at the crossed struts of the London Eye. (It's taken from within a London Eye capsule).

Peecee, I like that idea. I should have mentioned that this is the first of a series of 5 or so images of/ from the London Eye so I'll be looking for additional titles. I think yours might fit better with one I haven't loaded yet so I'll keep it in mind.

Incidentally, there aren't any prizes on offer (boo hoo) and I'm assuming any titles offered are offered in the knowledge that they will be used on images I'm selling on DPC Prints, ie in a commercial context.

:o)

"Above it All"

Up River (or Down River) work on the simplicity side - Cross River or Crossing the River work in the struts as does "Across River"

Good choice on the B&W

" Framework of England" it does actually show the houses of parliament

'Eye on the Thames' or 'View of the Heart' perhaps?

How about,

'An Eye On London'

Thanks folks, these are very heplful.

Wolfie, Fadoi I'll use your suggestions (An Eye On London and Above It All) on a couple of the others in the series, if I may?

"Across the river" appeals to me. I don't know why I'd like to get "cross" in but, if I find a title that works that includes it, I'll indulge myself!!

Last one, I'm off to bo'bo's... " A cross to Bear "

Nice pics by the way Kavita.

Infact, I am going to go with Across The River.

One thing I struggle with is capitalisation:

Across The River

or

Across the river

???

Overview.

Course you can use it.

Why are you feeling cross? Is it Charing Cross? Or perhaps the steels used in the wheel.

Could even call it 'The Wheel of Commerce'

:oD

Those struts just form such a strong cross shape, I guess. This shot from the series is the only one that features the strong cross element.

any thoughts on the capitalisation issue? see first post (edited)

In a title use,

All Capitals Of The Title, as they do in Album Titles For Groups.

It makes a clearer statement.

As a writer, I find it makes it more Dramatic.

Across the River

It should be written like a book title, which means all words are capitalized except for articles (a/an/the) and prepositions (to, from, with, in, of, for, etc.) unless they are the first word of the title.
