Just purchased a Cokin circular polarizer. I won't be able to play with it till tomorrow though cause the weather is crappy and the sky is all cloudy and stuff. :-( It was half the cost of the same type of filter at the local camera shop... Are Cokin products good? bad? average? Just curious... (all right maybe I should ask before I drop the thirty bucks...)

All the filters for my Digital Rebel are Cokin filters and I'm pretty satisfied with them. I specially like the fact that there is no vigetting with this filter system. I dont have a circular polarizer, only a linear and it works fine. I have 52mm, 58mm, and 77mm adapter rings, which in my opinion, is much cheaper than buying filters for every size of lens you own.

I have the circular polarizer and am very happy with it, in fact I have two -- just in case. I've used Cokin filters for the past 10 years and have had good results with all of them. Don't use many of them anymore because I can get more controlled results with Photoshop. Have fun playing tomorrow!

On a side note, how many stops do you lose with a polarizing filter?

1.5 to 2 depending on the particular company.
