hi i just paid $84 for a VIVITAR 70-210MM F/2.8-4.0 LENS FOR NIKON AUTO FOCUS am i
1. stupid
2. smart
3. I don't care
4.not bad |

I guess it would depend on what YOU get out of it.

Assuming Vivitar is a branded name from Cosina (for which this "Generic" title will apply):
Generic AF 2.8-4 70-210mm 2.97 (3) = average
Then it looks like it's an "okay" lens. There are better lenses (and probably more $$$), but also much worse ones out there too.
