Going off this link, and the image I posted earlier in the thread would suggest that the picture of the fish that started this thread would be a spookfish. But another site that has the same image as the one posted at the start of the thread says it is a chimaera.
I am so confused.

OK, here ya go with both silhouttes.
Hmmmm, almost too close to call, but the trailing edge of the wing is what throws me off... |

Maybe a f-14 tomcat with the wings swept back? |

But then again we are talking 20,000 or 30,000 ft up. Thanks for your opinion. |
Upon further review, the play on the field stands! I looked at the pic again, the the one that skief posted with the silhouettes side by side, and I think you may be right. I also remember that some testing and assembly of the F-22 is being done down at Warner-Robbins in GA. So, this very well could have been a rare sighting of a plane that's still in a very developmental stage, even though it's supposed to be in service in the next couple of years. Regardless, still a cool pic! |

Oooh, multi threading = confusing
My mate Tim reckons it's a Pacific spookfish, Rhinochimaera pacifica so I guess that backs up a few earlier posts :)

F-14 wings sweep back at SS speeds. But when they do it becomes a delta wing and the back edge of the wing is perpendicular not slightly forward. In this picture the jet was not going SS becaue the 707? can not go that fast. In that case the F-15 wings would be almost perpendicular front and back because the wings would be at a cross point. |
