I'm considering purchasing the Metz, 45CL-1 to use w/ my 10D.

I've 3-$400 to spend.

Mostly will be used to shoot in nightclubs, dressing rooms, situations with variable and uncontrollable light conditions.

thanks

The Metz should work for you; I believe it is a manual flash unit though. There is a module available to give you auto TTL metering though I believe.

Also look at the Sunpak 555, that's what I normally shoot with and it's basically identical.

thank you,, I realized that it was manual, after I posted. I think I"ll get the 54MZ-4 TTL instead,, and get a bracket for it at some point.

Out of curiosity, any reason you're avoiding the 550EX?

I've got a Canon 550EX and an IR transmitter... Can't understand how anyone can survive without them. Maybe a bit expensive, much more then worth it.
