Hope your not all bugged out with Macro V (if so sorry). I very nearly submitted this but in the end went for a more humorous shot (IMO). My entry is currently sitting at 5.3*** would this be scoring higher or lower?
The more I look at this the better I think it is :)

While this is a very technically composed shot, excellent light, focus, and detail, I just don't find it to be interesting. Flies are pretty boring colorwise, unless you get *so* macro that you catch the eye facets really well. I like the detail you got in the hairs of the body, though.
The bright yellow flowers are pretty, but have an odd shape that throws my eye off the subject of the photo. I would give a 9 for technical merit and a 5 for interest/subject appeal. Averages out at a 7.

| I think it is real 6, but it is a fly. Another bug would have taken it to an 8 at least. But I'm no expert! |

I think humorous was the way to go. I think people might be getting sick of seeing bugs. I am guilty of submitting a bug shot myself but it did have a little humor with a touch of wow factor.lol
I am beginning not to care what score I end up with. I look more forward to getting comments and whether it is picked as a favourite. If a picture of mine makes someone even so much as smile, then I have succeeded and it makes my new hobby worth while.

I like the photo....great shot...I would have scored it a 8.I'm tired of bugs...but try to look more at the photo quality..and this one hit's quality on the nose.

Looks alright, I think it could be darkened a bit, the flowers are pretty cool, but the fly is a bit fuzzy. I prolly woulda given a 5 or a 6 for it. I'm not a paying member so I couldn't submit a photo, but I took this during that entry time. //www.iupload.net/062004/kyeboshbee.jpg
