I can get this backpack for $45. I was wondering if it's worth it? I already have a camera bag, but I'm thinking since I'm also thinking of buying some lenses and other things while on my trip the extra space may come in handy. Plus it's easier to carry around. What are you're thoughts on camera backpacks?

If I remember correctly, jmsetzler had that backback and liked it. I bought a Lowepro CompuTrekker (highly recommended) so I could carry my laptop with my camera equipment. |

From a hiker/backpacker point of view it has the right stuff to be comfortable (waist strap and sternum strap). Since it doesn't come in sizes, it's made for average people. Thus, if you are over about 5'11" it probably won't be very comfortable for you, but would still work.

Sounds good...I'm not even close to 5'11 so I guess I don't have to worry about the backpack being too uncomfortable.

I love my backpack. Take a look at the Lowepro Computrekkers, they are all the rage these days. :) |

I picked up a Tenba DB-15C for a recent trip because I didn't want to carry separate laptop and camera bags. I like it so much, that it has been my primary camera bag since I got it, even though I rarely have a need to put my laptop in it! It rocks; especially the quick-access lens pockets that allow you to get at up to 4 lenses (or my 550EX) without laying it down and opening it "all the way".
They also make a non-backpack version. Very cool line of gear IMHO.

Got mine today and I already love it. Holds my Rebel w/ battery pack, 4 lenses, my 420ex and other odds and ends easily. |

last year i got a cheapy backpack at target for $19 ( was $39) that had a pouch for a hydration bladder. I thought hey for $19 it would make a great day hike pack. I would have room for water, lunch and other goodies. THen I got the idea to put 2 lenses and my spare battery and other accessories in the pack so I wold NOT have to carry 2 packs and it worked out nice. I did put the lenses in their own case inside the pack to help protect them and all the other stuff went in their own little pocket.
its not as purdy as my LOWE PRO MICRO TREKKER 200 but it does the job I want it to when I do long day hikes.

I ended up buying the CompuTrekker as well, after a lot of research - I love it. It is great for hiking even when I am not carrying my laptop, and is great for travel when I do. Very versatile. |

Computrecker for me too - has that extra pocket so when I go abroad the laptop comes along without the need for an extra bag.
Trouble is the thing is too heavy to carry as hand luggage with the 10D, 4 lrnses and the laptop. DOH ! |

I picked up mine yesterday, and I like it a lot also. My only concern now is if I'll be allowed into certain places carrying a backpack.
