For anyone interested in teleconverters for the Sony F717: I got myself a Canon TC-DC58N today, which works very nice with my F717, and the price is about half of the Sony HGD1758. Magnification of the Canon is 1.75x, so now I get almost 300mm equivalent focal length at the tele-end of the optical zoom. Only disadvantage is heavy vignetting at the wide-angle end of the zoom, but this seems to happen with the Sony HGD1758 also. I'll try to post some examples later.

I keep forgetting to post the link to the samples, but here goes, both at the tele end of the Sony zoom range:

Looks like it's sharp, but there's some distortion and chromatic aberration in the corners.
