I give up! :)
I stand firm that this challenge is open to interpretation, but I'm done with my spiel. I say "po-tay-to" and you say "po-tah-to".

airatic... i understand your explication and I agree
I think people see my "scale object" as a part of the miniature display...
Too bad, I will know it for the future challenges... ;o)

I entered a shot for the sole purpose of proving that the subject didn't REALLY have to be miniature to meet the challenge. Looks pretty good so far. ;-p

Hmmmmm
I've dropped from 5.35 to 4.75 is this normal?
I have only one comment that seems to be from someone who has scored my pic high, how does the voting average work - is the the average of the people that have voted for my pic or is it divided by the total number of people that have voted (i.e. if someone has not voted at all on my pic are they counted as a zero?) |

It doesn't have to be a miniature, scalvert...as long as:
"it conveys to the viewer that the subject of your photo is a tinier version of something that is normally larger"
I was only saying that I disagree with those who think a picture meets the challenge if it gives the illusion of a "small regular object appearing large". |

Gotcha thatcloudthere, I misunderstood your post.
Colda, this is DPC. Normal does not apply. Your score is the average of the votes your particular image has received. Scores usually start off wild, eventually form a slow trend after a day or two that continues through the week, then get slightly crazy again the on last day of voting.

BTW mine is the { edit }, just to clear everything up, I was focusing on the top part where the { edit } looks like it is glowing more than the { edit }, plus it's a macro lens so I couldn't get it extremely sharp.

Please don't discuss individual photos during voting. They're supposed to be anonymous.

Well, I took a last minute shot just to submit, which I probably shouldn't have bothered. Surprisingly, I am over a 5, which I didn't expect. I was really thinking I would be in the mid-4's, so I guess I am happy. LOL. Oh, BTW... 69 votes and 0 comments!

It is such a pleasure to see this type of posting. It is really the main reason we are here, only at times we get carried away with our self importance. Welcome Wolfie !

WOW! I just read this whole post. And all I have to say is WOW!
Does this happen with every challenge. A ton of woe is me stories. As I read the postings I checked out most of the profiles too and there are a lot of really talented artists, not just photographers on this site. Some of you have the ribbons to show for it and others should have them. But you know what? Who really cares if 1, 20 or even a million people don̢۪t like what you produce. There are probably 10 people who can see and do appreciate what you have put into your work to every one that doesn̢۪t. So let̢۪s try to be a little more positive people... PLEASE....
This is the first challenge I have entered and the second one I will be voting on. I have looked over all the pics twice now and checked out this post to try and get a feel of what was going on. Because I too have seen a lot of pics that I would interpret as not up to par I have changed my focus on how I will vote for this challenge after reading ALL...of this.
One last thing before I go and vote I have seen ALOT of comments made by people who have not submitted anything to challenges. Come on people! fair is fair let̢۪s see some of your stuff....bring it on...
WOW!

Will somebody be so kind to enlighten me as to how you lift previous posted statements when you make a reply. My attempts are feeble. |

Theres a little button to the right hand side above each statement that says "Quote". Just click on that and it will paste the statement into your comment box. You can add your statement either before it or after. :-) |

9 - 22
8 - 75
7 - 78
6 - 45
5 - 14
4 - 2
3 - 1
right now my entry is doing ok for my first time i guess, especially judging by the some of the comments in this thread

Yes! Thank You! I've gotten some really lousy comments from a few that have been on this site for awhile and never entered a photo. All I could think of was -- at least we had the guts to put our photos on the line. |

I call these voters (those without submissions) voices behind the veil. They speak like masters and they refuse to show us their work, they are affraid they would blind us with their genius. |
