Mark your calendars for the Night of Wednesday August 11, 2004 and the morning of Thursday August 12, 2004 for the Perseid Meteor Shower. They are predicting it to be unusually good this year.

I love how the universe arranged this show for my birthday, it's a party every year!

To detect meteors I use an FM radio tuned to a distant (more than 100 miles)station.
When a meteor produces the ionized trail the radio station will come in abruptly, thus alerting me to the event.
I suppose it could be rigged to trip a camera shutter! |
