Going on a much needed and well earned vacation. Talk to all of you in September, maybe.

Maybe you'll come back with some nice expensive and artistic prints for sale : )

Deannda,
Just got back from a (much needed) "break" in Ithaca...
Unexpected local vacation, and I can hardly remember where I report for work on Monday.
Time is good. It seems to create perspective.

I was once setting up my booth in a mall show (long, long time ago) back-to-back with a couple and their son (age 10?). The son kept saying how he wanted McDonald's to open and how he wished he had something to eat and how it would be good if he could have something sweet or... And his mother said, "Hunger is good."

Somehow that's how I think about vacations. We are satiated. And then we go away or take time off, not to be full but to be empty for awhile.

Enjoy.

Sometimes you need a break, perfectly understandable. People get burnt ou from ime to time, and that is perfectly fine. I think it helped me quite a bit honestly.

This site has a way of making you change the way you photograph things. I took a very long break and came back with a lame shot in 'balance' because I fell right back into my old habits. I assure you my entry for 'macro 4' is one of my signature shots and nobody will ever make me shoot differently again. It may not score well here, but my wife and friends have seen it and they could tell I took the picture just by it's characteristics. That is how I know I am on the right track.
