Yeah I did. I thought it was funny that I had Bananas but no fullmoon. I love the colour blue and have some pics from the many macro shots I took today that will be perfect.

| I think some people (the ones who don't read the challenge descriptions) will assume that we should all be photographing the moon, or something to do with the moon. In that case, the voting will be a disaster. |

Usually when a voter sees that 19 of the first 20 pictures they look at don't meet the challenge, they catch on that something is amiss and adjust their votes accordingly.

In that case, one of two things will happen.
1. It will be such a small group of people that it does not affect the results.
2. It will not be a small group of people, and everyone will be dragged down equally.

Assuming that most people using this site can read. There shouldn't be too many moons (as if!)
1st rule of competition entry. Read the entry requirements carefully!
I have just done my miniature effort (I struggled!) I am not sure I have the energy to think of anything worthwhile for Blue... moons or no moons...!!!
PS/ My moon (London, UK) is very orange... like an indoor photo with dodgy WB! |

Actually, I hope there ARE a lot of moon shots...
This way the voters will get bored with the same 'ol same 'ol and might vote better for those pics that don't include the moon... |

Um, it says it ends August 1. I guess that means at 11:59PM on Aug 1? I haven't really paid much attention to the ending times before, it's just a bit confusing since it's already Aug 1 on the East Coast...

Ends at 11:59:59 server time on August 1 (server time is Eastern time and appears at the bottom of every page on the site).

RobCoursey, I agree, there better be some damn cool composition to make a normal moon shot interesting. Personally I don't plan on entering anything with a moon.
Ami, yeah it is 11:59PM on August 1st, so if you are shooting early AM tonight, you'll have time to do so and perform any touchups or what not during the day - or if you are really a procrastinator you could shoot tomorrow night :)
Here's a shot I took and considered entering but decided not to:

Open your mind to BLUE... BLUE BLUE...
In fact, a photo of a blue moon will rate very low to me, because it is abvious idea... PLEASE have original idea.... when i see some 4-5 picture similar, with the same idea but just different interpretation.... i tend to score low because of the unique factor gone...
For me, idea = 50%, technique 20%, subject 30% |
