Ok, so I have a Nikon D100 with various lenses. The problem that I face is dirt in the camera housing, this seems to propogate itself each time I change a lense outside.
Now I know that a lot of you will recommend various cleaning techniques most of which I have tried already. I have had it professionally cleaned 3 times at 80 bucks a shot, I can't pay that all the time.
So to the point, I have to clone out a lot of the dirt in my photos, skies especially, on this site basic editing rules don't allow this.
Who agrees that cloning dirt without altering the composition of the photo should be allowed? |

The problem is, how do you draw the line? A speck of dust, a bird, a phone wire.. |

Ok, valid point! If a phot gets in the top 20 then it can be compared with the original to make sure that only the dirt has been cloned. Also there could bee a check box on the submissions form to specify if DIRT CLONING has been applied. It's not that hard and most dirt is obvious only in the light areas.

Are you powering your camera off when you change lenses? If not, you should.

Such a simple little thing....that I learned some time back.
Since then, much less dust.

really! I never turned mine off, and the only cleaning that I have had to do, was easily taken care of with a bulb blower. |
