Can any one tell me waht monitor calirbration is, how I can do it, how much it costs? I know absouloutely nothing about it. All I know is that my monitor is dark.
Any help would be greatly apprecitated

Do you have Windows?? Look in the system tray. (bottom right.)

Look for your Graphics Card Software icon. Open settings or whatever.

you'll eventually find some brightness/contrast/gamma/everything else settings.

Have a look at this article, it will give you a good basic start: //epaperpress.com/monitorcal/

If you want to calibrate it to get accurate colour matching etc, you'll need to use a Spyder, something like this one: //www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=324696&is=REG

Follow the instructions on the first site Dan listed. It is fairly simple to do and doesn't take very long once you get the idea.
