Just a thought. Have you thought of waiting 'til November. You can take advantage of the glut of second hand 10Ds when the replacement is released. Just some friendly advice. I guess the drop in price on the new ones is attractive too.

Hmm... that's a good idea. I did think about waiting to see if I could score a used one, but I'd be worried about warranty and condition of the camera. I'd be more at ease knowing the camera wasn't abused or mishandled in any way.

At any rate, I won't have enough money till September or October, even after I sell my 707. Even later if I can't find a buyer.

Where will you buying the 10D from? If you know someone in the military ask them to check out the Navy Exchange or the aafes website. Last time I was there they selling it for around $1300.

Good point. I hope you get a good price for your gear. At any rate you have chosen a good camera :)

Most likely I will be ordering from B&H but if I can find a good deal locally, I won't have to worry about waiting for shipping. Any other suggestions or experiences from ordering online? The quoted price of 1,299.95 at B&H is mighty tempting.

I know someone who just sold his 10D with 715 shutter actuations for $1050, SPL water housing for $1000, and Canon 15mm F2.8 for $415. Wish I had the cash but he sold it a day after it was posted. :/
