I nominate joaoba for Most Improved Photographer of 2004. He went from 199/202 in his first challenge last Jan to a Blue Ribbon, 1/202, in Choclate. Impressive. Keep up the good work João. And please don't wait so long to enter again. Excellent shot, it desreved first place.

I second the nomination. Well done João. Keep it up. I love your shot and it deserved the ribbon.

While I congratulate him on his win and a spectacular capture, I feel that for someone to earn a most improved award, they should show some type of progression in at least several challege entries. Entering an off-topic image in a challenge, and then in 6 months, entering a second challenge and winning doesn't really scream *most improved* to me.

I understand that the photographer may have used the 6 months where he didn't enter any challenges to brush up on his skill, but I think a "learned to read contest details" award is more suitable to the situation.

I agree, but the winning shot is still pretty cool!
Language barrier on the first one?

That's what I was thinking.
