The Wedge/Back Bay/O.C. Fair, sounds like a great triathlon. I might need to get a battery grip and spare battery for that many pictures. =)

Will the OC Fair still be here in late August? I can't go this week to see Al :( I am so busy with my move (to glendale) that i won't be able to do anything fun for a while. I am going to NYC soon, but fun in LA won't be til mid/late August.

How close is the wedge to back bay?

O.C. Fair ends Aug. 1st

I didn't see Al either, I may go back Saturday or Sunday for some photography. One of my co-workers has seen Al 3 nights now and has some good photos of the show and after-show backstage photos.

The back bay is close to the wedge. I really enjoy cycling from the back bay to newport pier and back. By car I would guess 3-5 miles from the wedge, depending on whether you take the ferry.

Wedge and back bay sound good to me. El Matador sounds good too, but it sounds like more options are available for the day in OC. Whatever everyone decides is cool with me.

Yep, I'm here! I was just waiting for the August date to get closer to see what's going on with the meet at the beach. As for the OC Fair, I guess we can do that late next week. I'm busy Sunday through Wednesday.

I am going to have to skip the OC fair due to my packing/moving and going to NYC. But I'll meet up with you for the Wedge/Bay trip in mid/late August. :)

Okay, after figuring out the next month of my life, it looks like Aug 21st in the afternoon or 22nd all day is good for me. I am moving on the 7th, cleaning my old apartment the weekend after, then free on the 21st/22nd (though it is my sister's birthday on the 21st) and then have traffic school & batsday on the 28th/29th. Anyone want to go to batsday? It's where a bunch of goths get together and go to disneyland in masses of over 200 people! It'll be a sight to see! :)

If I try saying anything 3 times real fast it just comes out as "Bud Lite, Bud Lite, Bud Lite"

Try: I slit a sheet a sheet I slit, upon the slited sheet I sit... really fast!

I got my vacation dates all wrong. I'm *leaving* on the 21st not the following weekend so the Wedge is out for me. However, everyone should feel free to go and not worry about me. I just want to see the pictures later! :)

I am up for a visit here this weekend; I don't think you can go wrong for $1 admission.

Hi All,

I just got back from NYC and I am soooo tired... but it was fun. I think I got some nice shots. Anyhow, August isn't looking too pretty for most of us. My ONLY free weekend is the 21st, but even so, I don't know when yet... since it's my sister's birthday. So, I don't know if I am free on Sat or Sun, and may not know til almost that weekend.

I want to propose an idea... I'd like to do a late night, into the desert, camping (for at least 1/2 of the night) trip for night photography. I know a photographer, who I really admire, who's given me some great tips and advice on night photography (the kind that he does). Visit //www.lostamerica.com and view the galleries. Also explore the site and read his story, see his equipment. It's all done in the Cali & NV deserts. We need a weekend with a full moon (fri or sat night) and we need some colored gels, and some fun objects (ghost town type stuff).

I REALLY want to do this. Anyone up for it? It'll take some good planning, but I think it'll be worth it!

Arie, that sounds like great fun! I would definitely be up for it! As for August, it's not looking too good for me. The weekend of the 21/22 is not going to work. I will be up in the mountains from Saturday afternoon through Sunday. I haven't done night photography in a long time, and never with digital, so I would definitely be up for doing this!

I think I want to try film & digital for this. I have some color portra UC film I want to use. Where do we get gels? I have celophane, but it's not very good for chaning the light color... it's weak and kinda 'off' color.

When I find a full moon for us on a weekend, we'll look at our personal calendars and try to see if we can all go! I still have your CF, Chuck. PM me your mailing address since I won't see you in August and I'll mail it to you!
