On my day trip to Niagara Falls, Canada today I have taken a picture of this mural on the wall of old power plant building. I like the picture very much. Can anyone offer any constructive critism or suggestions to how it could be improved ?

Hey Andrew, I just quickly selected the shadow area and adjusted it closer to the lighter area. A little Dodge/burn to even out the corners and duotoned it.
I hope you like it. I think its a great shot!!

Gringo, yes I like what you did with this pic. I am unfortunately not very skilled at the techniques of digital darkroom, I will have to spend some time learning a few tricks. Let's see, can I do it myself ? |

It took about 4 min is all. It's not hard to do, but I didn't do a super high-end job on it either. (I'm far from a Photoshop guru). So yes, i'm sure you can learn to do it quite easily.
I hesitate to post adjustments to other peoples work in the forums because I think your work should say exactly what you want it to say. I hope you don't mind my having adjusted it here. |

Mural? I see no mural, but I do see an architectural relief sculpture.
Your shot does have potential as seen in the duotone version by Gringo. I'd concentrate on bringing out more contrast as it will further "pop" the image at the viewer. |
