Doesn't look too shabby for that price, take a look at the steve's digicams review //www.steves-digicams.com/ms-1.html

One thing you will want to consider is the fact that it does not allow you to control the brightness at all and I don't think that it is a very powerful flash. I normally recommend a slave flash with at least a guide number of 100. It may have troubles bouncing off of high cielings/walls but it should work fine for providing some extra light from 10-30 feet away.

I have a similar flash like that.

There are a few things you need to know.

You might not always want the on camera flash to go off, but you can then buy a wire and not use the sensor.

It dose not always sense the on camera flash. It's usually good inside but out side in strong light it dose not always sence the on camera flash unless its very very close.

The flash always need to be visual to your on camera flash.

So it might be a love hate relationship with the flash.
Love it when it helps you and hate it when it dose not go off when you wanted to.

On my flash I can set iso rating on it and it gives me a guiding number for the apeture and distance. There is also a setting that uses a built in light meter. Its a CULLMANN SL28. I can post a picture of it if you want too.
