If you look at both the top 3 winners from member and non-member 5 of them use the exact same camera! The Canon EOS-300D Rebels! It must be really good! Doesn't that seem weird to anyone? I don't have it! I must!

Yeah, poor man's 10D. The Rebel is the best bang for your DSLR buck, no matter how you slice it.

Not surprising. The Canon 300D and 10D are the most popular cameras on this site by far. As more people get the Nikon D70, these three models will tend to dominate. They're cheap enough for non-professionals to own, but expensive enough to discourage casual or inexperienced photographers. As a result, a disproportionate percentage of the more serious members own these models. |

film is quite expensive overall
the bit of surprise to the shots is nice, and playing in a real darkroom is nice sometimes too. though at the moment don't have one here - but probably will in the future.

i love my Rebel...but...its huge. I LOVE it for doing artistic stuff but for my basic pictures (like during band camp and stuff) just trying to document fun times its too big to carry around. so i have a dilemma of sorts... |

If you think the Rebel is huge, you should see a 10D with the Big Ed!! |
