		| | I got my Canon 50mm 1.8 lens in the mail yesterday....WHOOOHOO...!!! Compared to my other lenses, it is really small and looks kinda silly on the camera. I haven't really had a chance to try it out yet but I can't wait! I'm still waiting for the Sigma 24-135mm 2.8-4.5 IF. I hate waiting, anticipation is the worst part of ordering stuff onliine. I'll keep you posted and upload some pics taken with the new lenses as soon as I have some.

		| | Congrats! I love the way it looks on my camera. Little stubby lens. I have the 50mm 1.4.

		| | I also have the 50/1.4, and it is tiny. Usually, when I'm going 'in cognito', I slap on the 50mm, take off the battery-grip and 550EX flash. My camera looks almost like a P&S at that point!
Enjoy it. The 1.8 is a great value and a great little piece of sharp glass.

		| | Of course we love our lenses. I decided to improve my lens selection and bought two at the same time. 80-200 mm F2.8 (the most expensieve lend I have ever owned or used I think) and also 50mm F1.8 the cheapest one and both Nikkor lenses.
I even like the 50mm more. It's so small and handy and it seems to me it gives cristal sharp fotos.

		| | yep ... I just ordered the canon 70-200mm f4 this morning. It's going to be a long weekend waiting for it to get here. Of course, then there's the compulsion to call in sick to work when it finally does come :) |

		| | My carry lens for the 10D is a 35mm f/2. I think it's even smaller than the 50 f/1.8 and it makes "interesting" buzzing sounds when it focuses.

		| | Congrats June :)
Guess what? I rang my local store (almost a daily task) and he had a canon 50mm f/1.8 MK1 in, problem was he had reserved it for a guy on the phone. On the stroke of 3pm (the deadline) I rang and it was still there.

I've read that the mk1 is superior to the plastic mk2??, this has a depth of field window. No usm but hey I own a mk1 :) :) Should be fun when the sun goes down and I point it at the aquariums. Makes me feel better now as I have my 77mm uv filter but still waiting for the 17-40l to attach it to (was dispatched today).

I bought those two (well, the Nikon versions)on the same day too. the big one cost 20 times the little one, and I like the little better i think.

@June - you won't worry about it's wee size when you see the razor sharp pics you can get from it, especially in low light.

Mine is bolted to the body, all I can buy are fillters and stack on lenses. Think I'll save up for a 10D...

They stopped making the 300D? You serious? It is the flag ship of Canon at the moment. Must be something new in the pipeline then.

Umm, yeah. How about the $4500 USD, 8.5 frames per second, 8.28 megapixel, 45 zone auto focus, weather sealed 1 D Mark II? Or the venerable but yet unsurpassed 11.1 megapixel 1 Ds for $7500 list price. Those are the two bodies that target the professional Canon supporters. I would assume that those are the flagship bodies in their categories (photojournalism and studio work, respectively).

Back on topic, I just got the EF 85mm f/1.8. I also ordered some extra flash equipment to complement the ol' 550EX; my new ST-E2 and 420EX will be arriving this afternoon via UPS from B&H. If everything works out I'm supposed to be shooting an "after" shot for a local tanning salon that has just put in the new spray tanning solution. Maybe I'll have something cool to post with a new lens and a 3 flash head setup.

Well, it is a Rebel and all of their Rebel bodies are silver, right? Plus if they'd have made it black there would have been a rebellion of 10D owners demanding reparations.

		| | Two weeks ago I bought a canon 15mm fisheye lens. I thought long and hard before I bought this lens because I had several friends tell me that it would a waste of money but I went ahead and bought it.
After using the lens for about two weeks now I have come to the conclusion that the only creative limitations of this lens will be in the eyes of the beholder. I love this lens and have found a 101 uses for this lens. I was wondering if anyone else has had any experience with a fisheye lens.
