The ESA/ESO/NASA Photoshop FITS Liberator plug-in for Adobe® PhotoShop® has just been made available for free download here.
This software allows mere mortals like you & I to process images stored in the FITS format (the format used for all the research imges acquired by Hubble over the years). Essentially, you can drag FITS images out of the library, and process them at home to create your own composite images from the individually-acquired color channels.
Pretty cool stuff. Fellow uber-geeks, rejoice!

hey Fritz, you getting slow in your old age??? this was actually released a back on 7/11/04.

FITS

I havent had a chance to try it yet as I have too many of my own photos I need to do some post processing on that i have been too lazy to do yet.

GETTING slow? James, I've gotten so far behind, I think I'm first, LOL.
Actually, I just received a boatload of e-mail notifications from the Space Telescope Science Institute that I assume were long-delayed.
And here I though I had a scoop! Have you tried it out yet?

LOL.. no I have not tried it yet, I will one day soon.

Hey I will be up in Chicago in August, probablly the 23rd, 24th & 25th, but not sure at this time. I will be in the Hoffman Estates area.

Will it, or does that also work with Photoshop Elements 2.0?

Right now, I am to poor to pick up PS CS.. :(

It will work with Elements 2.0, though only in 8-bit color. Elemenets 1.0 is not supported.
