I NEED Photoshop or something with the Action ability... I have almost 300 images that I need to just resize and slap a ©2004 Ami Yuy onto, but it takes so dang long...
My old process of opening a file in Adobe PhotoDeluxe, color correcting, cropping, saving, and exporting as a bmp, then resizing, sharpening, and saving in Corel PhotoHouse (it sharpens and resizes better), then back to PhotoDeluxe to add the © because PhotoHouse doesn't have a text option...and back to PhotoHouse to save as jpg because it saves better than PhotoDeluxe.
I have tried doing the "Copy and Resize" step in Nikon Viewer, but it doesn't sharpen them and also either makes them too small or too big and I can't have it add the © so I have to go back and edit them anyway...
*sighs* I want to just have Photoshop and create an action to resize them to 550x412, Sharpen +4, add ©2004 Ami Yuy, and save.
But even if I dolled out the cash (which I have thanks to Graduation money), I don't have the computer (yet) which can do it...
Oh, and then comes the making of webgalleries for these photos. Before I'd just do the html by hand. But I have no desire to sit there and do that for these many photos...so I tried the option in Nikon Viewer. Ewwww... Ugly fonts and I hate the layouts... I would download "Gallery" but it doesn't work on Win 98...
*sighs*
I have 45 edited and up (here and here) but it's taken me forever...and I still don't have my own website gallery ready!
My "Advertisement" entry:
and my "The Color Purple" reject/missed deadline:
photos were taken at that event and I WANT to give each photo the individual attention it deserves to be at its best (who knows, maybe it was the only picture that person had taken of them and they want to use it for something, well, I want to give them the best one that I can)...but it's so hard...

Why don't you download the free trial version of Paint Shop Pro 8? It has what Jasc calls "Automated Productivity Scripts". This will propabply do what you are asking about in your post and maybe you can process your 300 pics without buying it. And if you decide you like it, it's a lot less expensive than the industry standard. Paint Shop Pro 8 |

While your downloading, why not a 30 day trial of Photoshop CS.
Tryouts page...

You may want to check out PhotoWatermark Professional as a less-expensive option to purchasing Photoshop CS if that is all you plan on using it for. Or AiS Watermark Pictures Protector, PhotoMark, EyeBatch, Photographer's Power Toys, MBizGroup Batch PhotoEditor, 1-More WaterMarker, Fast Photos (which does more than just watermark for $24.95) or even Image Brander, which is only $9.99...
Obviously, Photoshop offers quite a bit of other features for the extra money...

Ok, I can't really help with the computer, or buying photoshop (or finding a good friend that has...).
But I do know a bit about automated galleries. I currently use a thing GallerooGalleroo. Does resizing and comprehensive layouts (include stylesheets). Only thing it doesn't do is add text (which I do through Photoshop, so I guess that would be a problem for you :( )
