I was looking at some telephoto lenses I won't be able to afford for the next 10 years...drool...and I have a dumb question. Is a 50-500mm f4-6.3 lens a fast lens? Just curious.

Yeah. I was reading some reviews and people seem to be really happy with it. I can't afford it right now, but I'm gonna start saving so I can get it for July of next year when I'm planning on going on a safari. The 800mm on the Digital Rebel is incredible.
