Hi. I'm new here and not sure how to post pictures. I searched the discussion thread and looked in the help section and didn't find anything. The only thing I see is the icon to insert a picture using a web address. Can I use that to point at a file on my puter?

The only way to do it from your computer is if you have a static IP address and are running web-server software. There are plenty of free sites on the internet where you can upload and link to your pictures. |

you could of course also use a service such as dyndns.org to also run a server off of your computer and have your jdomain name resolve off of their name server and redirect to your dynamic ip address (dialup or whatever). Slightly complex but really not too bad...there's alot of info on the web on how to do it. try this link //www.dyndns.org/services/dyndns/ to get started and check out the howto link for additional info

The problem with hosting them on your own computer is you better make darned sure you know how to secure it -- using a hosting service eliminates a major avenue for hackers to get at you. |

Thanks all. The free hosting sites sounds the way to go. Not a wiz at security nor domaining. |

Make sure that when you choose your free host, that you choose one that allows direct linking to images on other sites. Also, please link to images rather than including them directly in your forum posts.
