I'm building a new website and have designed a couple logos to use. Please take a look and give your opinions, and what you like, what you DON'T like, and what you would change. These are basically my first attempts in designing a logo or doing this kind of thing so any help from experienced designers would be great!

This is the main "logo". It will be on most web pages probably. Is it plain? How do you like the font (not many to choose from in PS)? Do you like the PS effect? Should I add something to it, or remove anything?:

This one will be at the top of the "Catalog" page:

This is a "banner" that I may use for advertising on other pages, etc. Is it too busy? What do you like and dislike about it?

BTW, special thanks to Kiwiness for allowing me to use the "film holes" and edge from his great "X-Ray" challenge entry. Thanks!

it's a little over-stylized in my opinion.

too many shadows and bevels... but that's just me.

:D

I like them, To be honest with you, I really dont care too much for the second one, just stay consistant even with your fonts. Simple is good for an online site. I have found that less is more with websites, too much is distracting. A majority of users just want the information and want to retrieve it quick and easy. You can make it really attractive by keeping it simple.

Thanks for the comments! Anybody else?

I agree, the second one is too much. Try a scaled down or basic version of the header font, or stick to an iconic interface for each page. I like the main logo, and the filmstrip is nice, you might want to experiment with how it looks at various sizes (for business cards, etc) and in greyscale.

They are a little too busy for my taste. I think a logo should be simple, I'd stay away from drop-shadows, textures & the like. I do like the general design of the banner though. Lots of contrast is good for advertising. Good luck with the project, let us know when you get the site up.
