Hi.
I was reading PCPhoto July/August last night and the article about the Kodak DCS PRO SLR/n cought my eye. It looks like a great camera, and for ab out the price of the Mark ii, it gives you 14MP. Only one problem with it....it only takes Nikon F Mount lenses....until now. The article said Kodak had announced the release of the Kodak DCS PRO SLR/c, which takes Canon AF lenses. YAY!!! Having all the Canon fit lenses we Canon SLR users have, if we wanted to the the original Kodak, we would have to spend a pretty penny on new lenses. Now we don't and I wonder how many of those in the market for a Pro SLR will choose the Kodak DSC PRO SLR/c instead of the Mark ii, or how many people will simply decide to buy go Pro because of the Kodak.

I posted about the SLR/c back in March. It is doubtful that it will provide any competition to the Mark II (the Mark II is a sports camera; the SLR/c is primarily going to be a studio camera). The only camera it really competes with is the 1Ds, and even then, the 1Ds is probably still a better camera even though it is "only" 11MP. Read Phil's review of the SLR/c here, and you'll see the "issues" this camera has.
Also, I think anybody who was thinking about "going pro" with Canon already had lots of good reasons to do so. =]
