| My camera froze up completely for some reason, and nothing I do has any effect. It has the little green "saving" icon in the top left of the screen, and even turning off the camera has no effect! I was taking pictures in 5M Fine, Shutter Priority, with a 256 MB SanDisk card, and now I can't even turn the camera off. Can anyone help?? |

| Have you tried pulling out the battery? |

I had that happen a couple of times with my Coolpix 995. I took the battery out and put it back in and it was fine. It happened maybe two or three times out of about 6000 pictures. Very weird and irritating, but not a huge deal. Hope it's the same thing for you.

Thank you both! Sadly enough, that didn't even occur to me, I guess I'm too ingrained with the idea that taking the battery out with the power still on makes you lose the data (which is true on my computer)
Problem solved, at least for now :) I was freaking that I wouldn't be able to enter any more challenges! |

The Coolpix 5400 is the camera I'm considering upgrading to eventually. It's interesting to know they still freeze like that. I've occasionally had that problem with my Coolpix 700 and taking the battery out, as previously suggested ,solves the problem. It is annoying but no big deal. |
