Here was my entry for the June free Study....


Here are some of the ones I did not enter. Did I make the right choice?





Anyy comments would be appreciated.

I think I prefer the 2nd and 3rd of your 4 outtakes to the one you entered. I think they're more close in and "personal". Also they fill the whole frame well. In your entry the space at the top seemed a bit awkward to me and I think you should have either cropped it off, or composed down a bit to include more of the sniper.

The one going down the rifle barrel where you can just see his eyes. It adds a human element to the shot.

Thanks... I've learned a lot since joining this site, but I think the most important thing I've learned is the importance of a proper crop. I probably would have done much better with this one and my color studio portrait entry if I would have not cropped the subject in the dead center of the picture. It's a bad habit I've had, but I won't do it anymore... hopefully.

i definatly prefer one showing the barrel of the riffle ...

This one would have been super cool if the whole rifle was in sharp focus and the sniper slightly out of focus ...
