I'm a novice photographer, but would love to have a camera that will take pictures that would make me look a lot better than I really am at this.

I want a camera that can catch the perfect raindrops on a flowers pedals after the rain, or the dew on the grass in the morning.

I plan to do sports photography too..

Here's what I'm looking for.

- 5.5 MP or more
- Take multiple pictures by holding the button down
- Built in flash
- Not too compact
- Accepts over 256 mb of SD/MMC

Under 1500 bucks.

That's the the majority of non dSLR cameras and some of the newer dSLR cameras. Quite a range.
If you plan to do Sports pictures you may want to look into dSLR cameras.

maybe a sony 828, canon powershot Pro1, or maybe a DSLR like the Dreb or the Nikon D70 (?)

you could get a canon eos 300d and a decent macro and zoom lens that should suit you well. or if you prefer nikon, a d70...

if you really want versatility and high quality macro, a dSLR is the way to go.

DSLR is a Digital SLR camera. SLRs are the cameras where you can buy different lenses for them and switch them.

ive found that the nikon d70 takes beautiful pictures. i would say that the two best cameras are probably the nikon and the cannon digital rebel. but before you buy anything make sure you know everything about it. id suggest checking out dpreview.com it tells you everything, and litterally everything about the cameras. it can help you narrow down your choice. also check out pricegrabber.com to see what people have said about the cameras. good luck. i hope this helped

Anyone know what "term" I would use when scouting out a camera with multiple exposure? (You know the longer I hold it down the more pics it takes)

Actually a good choice. A lot of accessories to add to the fun too.
