I wonder if anybody has a practical experience with AV-S VR Zoom Nikkor 24-120 f/3.5-5.6 GIF-ED. How does the lens compare to the kit lens of Nikon D70? I know the basic difference from the specification (range, weight, etc.), but what about picture quality and handling. |

I don't have the kit lens, but I like the 24-120 VR quite a bit. Really helps my night photography etc.
It handles great, the focus ring and zoom ring are interchanged so it'll goof you up the first few times you go to zoom or focus.
I love the picture quality. Almost all my photos were with this lens, so you can judge for yourself. (if you want a full sized for comparison let me know)
edit:: oh and the focus is smooth as silk. . . absolutely gorgeous.

I recently purchased this lens and am quite pleased with it. I used it for my entry into Advertisement II challenge but you'll have to wait a few days for it to clear voting before you can see it. Otherwise, jadin's comments are right on. |
