was trying to get some pics of dragonflies today.......howling gale made it a bit tricky to focus. Do want to get another lens as at present just have the lens that came with the camera (EF-S18-55).....most useful next lens? - sue

1) F6.3, 1/160, ISO 100, no flash

2) F11.0, 1/200, ISO 100, flash used

3) nearly missed this one, it was the same colour as the tree it was sitting in. F9.0, 1/200, ISO 100, no flash.

get some sort of a telephoto
75-300mm is a good range to go with the 18-55mm

i have a 75-300mm f:4-5.6 III - cheap but i have gotten a lot of use out of it so far. about $200 US
you can spend a lot more, but... i dont have the cash right now.

camera shops sometimes carry trade ins, or used equipment.
there are a few around here that do. i would be more confident buying from a local dealer than online for used stuff. but that's just me.

i forgot to mention my tele is made by canon

sigma makes a similar lense for less - but its heavier, and takes a larger filter than the canon version.
the sigma does - however - have a 2:1 macro setting the canon lense doesn't.

off to work i go.
