Maybe its just my pic but...120 votes and two comments?? I think all the comments are reserved for portraits because of the dare/challenge to vote on all the entries in portraits... what do you think??

Probably has more to do with there being more than three times as many entries to Extraordinary as to Portrait.

Average or middle of the road scores usually get the least comments if you happen to be in that range.

I haven't even looked at Extraordinary other than the thumbs. I am trying to leave useful comments on the portrait challenge for three reasons:

1) I think it is helping me understand what makes a "good" portrait.
2) It is a really well done challenge, and these are fun photos to look at.
3) Maybe the comments are helping the shooters.

I hope to get to extraordinary by the weekend.

Unfortunately June Free Study just started too. So comments might really spread out.

Of course your right... I was hoping that wasnt the awnser... but alas i will just lick my wound (4.28) and admire the great shots!!!

Really though, i used to reserve my comments for the shots i voted 7 or better. but from now on i am going to comment on across the board. I will comment on scores lower than 7 and comment on the best pics after the results are in. Hopefully members such as myself who might score 4 5 0r 6 might just learn something.

I know I'm repeating myself, but I'm trying to get a following... When we look at pics that score 1,2,3 most of us know why they score that way without having to leave them a comment. Likewise those we score 8,9,10 the comments that are usually left are the ubiquitous "wow" "good shot" etc... In my opinion the photos that really do need the comments are the ones that score 4's or 5's. These are photos that people have really tried, most showing them to others and getting a response of "that's a good pic, enter that one." However upon voting, their good picture is now only mediocre, and pointers to help them move their picture from mediocre to above average would do the most benefit. So I am going to start paying more attention to those photos that are average and try to give my ideas (although I'm no expert) on how to improve the picture.

I have just completed voting on this challenge, I haven't time to comment on many so I would congratulate all entrants on some splendid pictures.
