A friend of a friend produces glossy advertising brochures advertising businesses & facilities etc in various towns / villages fairly local to where I live.
I mentioned to my friend that I was a keen amature photographer & wondered where her friend got her images from as I feel I could take equally good shots (if not better) myself.
She mentioned this to her friend who advised her that she pays for them (& said she had some done by someone else who took 2 pictures & charged her £150 for the 2 shots)
If she likes my photographs, how much should I charge her, & what sort of terms would you suggest (ie a fixed price or so much for so many brochures etc) Also comments on Copyright would be appreciated. |

Charge her 149.
lol, sorry, I don't know the answer either but I'd be interested in hearing what you come up with. If you lived in the US you could use something like this as a jumping off point.

I'm not the voice of experience here, but if has been paying 150 pounds for 2 shots, you shouldn't underprice your work. I know it's not all about the money but the exposure, but still. You can charge her a flat rate for the assigment, a flat rate and she can use as many images as she wants. Or, you can charge her by the picture. You go take the photographs and charge her for however many she uses, at say, 50 pounds each. She's still paying less than what she had been paying and you got the job, so everyone's happy. Just my 2 cents.
