Hi all!
I read an article in Photoshop User magazine (June 2004) about customizing a PS CS web photo gallery. Unfortunately, there weren't enough details in the article to tell me how to do it. Ultimately I want to create a template so that I can link a few different galleries, e.g. nature, abstract, etc. from my home page. Does anyone know of a good tutorial for this? Or can someone walk me through the process?

Any help will be very appreciated!!!

p.s. I have DW MX and GoLive6 so instruction in either would be great.

I do know that if you search throught the ps cs help file, it will tell you how to customize the web photo gallery...

Yeah, I know, Danielle - guess I wasn't specific enough. Sorry! :-)

I'm talking about the ability to further customize the gallery in an HTML editor so that I might add my own background, etc., etc.

If you know html, all you have to do is open up the file and change whatever you like.
Located in PhotoshopCS/Presets/Web Photo Gallery
I am sure you can create your own and add it in there and it will show up also.

Assuming you are running windows go look in Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop CS\Presets\Web Photo Gallery. This is where all the templates are. You can change all of them or create new ones.

I know where the web gallery folders are, my probelm is with getting them to work once I've fooled with them. Lack of html experience is my problem. I thought I had it but when I tried my gallery in PS, I got this weird "tokens missing" message. GGrrrr! I'm SO frustrated!

Take the "Simple" web gallery for example - all I want is to be able to create a gallery with a white background and without any text or than a title, dates, exif data, etc.

Anyway, if any of you web gurus can help me figure this out I will mail you a beer.

p.s. I use a Mac

Hi didistoune

I make web galleries in PS CS and when I'm done I open the .html files in Dreamweaver and make whatever changes I need to. I've never had a problem doing it this way... so I basically use PS as a really quick way to build the pages and thumbnails and whatnot and then tweak them later.

You should simply have to open Dreamweaver and change what you want or take it out, etc. It shows you graphically and has the WYSIWYG type of theing.
The tokens are the little words in the html code (when you open it in an html editor-BBEdit Lite, TextEdit, etc) that have the %someword% (%CAPTION% for instance) that it loads into the page from what you set in the Automate/Web Gallery box. I have done this with iView MediaPro, but haven't with PS (soon). You have to find out what the paameters (the words used) to present those on the page, like for EXIF stuff, the capitalized word they use for FOCAL LENGTH, etc.
Still think it would be easier doing the Simple, Only entering the info you want to appear and then mess with it in DW. changing the background and colors is fairly simple from what I remember when I had it.

Yup! I think my latest post (ok, rant) in this thread dislodged something in my brain because I am beginning to figure this out.... Copied the Simple gallery to another location, tweaked in GoLive, renamed it and added it back to the presets folder. Tried it PS and by golly, it worked!

Of course, since I've been messing around with this little project for hours, I can't see anymore!
