I am the type of person who will hit the update button 3 or 4 times an hour for a regular challenge, but for the Portrait Challenge I submitted a picture I really like and I seem to be updating the score every 5 minutes. It's not doing as well as I had hoped, but I got a comment from someone I really respect as a photographer, so the challenge is already a success for me... hopefully, I can relax a little now.

I couldn't agree more. I think my submission is the best I've submitted so far, but my score isn't where I was hoping (5.7) ... I just keep refreshing hoping it'll go up :)
Ah well ... we live to fight another day. |

I knew my submittion would get a low score despite it being a tehnically good picture in terms of exposure and pose. But my score is what I expected....4.2.

I always get more anxious when my entry is scoring well. It's currently at 6.45, so I can't even get on the internet without going straight to the update button. I went to sleep late last night with a 7.3+ average, so I was hoping I'd finally break the 7 barrier, but still no luck. I did get one amusing comment that there was too much of something in my shot that doesn't exist at all. That'll drive anybody insane. |
