New photographer here..just want opinions on this picture. It's my favorite. I colored the windows and left the rest as is.

have you got the exif details of the pic Crystal?

I like the details I can see of the wood, but overall to me it looks a bit flat and lacking in textures. Nice job with the windows.

Sorry I don't know what you mean by the exif details. I am new to this and just play with the Photoshop. I could add some texture to the wood..that is a good idea..

Tell me if this is better.

The EXIF data is what the camera captures along with the image. It contains information like the shutter speed, aperture, focus mode etc. This information is usually only present on the original as any editing will wipe it out.

I like the colored glass but maybe a touch more contrast on the wood siding would help the overall composition or just cropping into the window with the colored glass. Try playing around with these suggestions and see what you can come up with.

Other then these suggestions, I think is a good effort.

I made it too big again..I am lazy when it comes to resizing...anyway..now you got texture and i added some contrast. tell me if it's getting better. And I started from the original and so I didn't crop out the right side..should I crop out the right side or leave it?

don't have to worry about resizing if you post a link or put a thumbnail image on your post. here's a link - there's a description of how to post thumbnails there.

I do like the texture/contrast :D Since I've joined up here have started trying out a whole lot of different ways of cropping my pics to see how they look. I still don't get it right, but it's really interesting how it can totally change the focus of the pic.
